Kings, Mike Brown agree to 4-year deal

The Sacramento Kings have agreed on a four-year deal for Mike Brown to be their next head coach, a source confirmed to The Athletic. Brown is currently the associate head coach of the Golden State Warriors.

He previously led the Cleveland Cavaliers to a 305-187 record through six seasons and won NBA Coach of the Year honors in 2009. Brown also was head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers for two years, compiling a 42-29 record.

The 52-year-old will take over for interim coach Alvin Gentry, who was fired in April. The Kings have missed the playoffs 16 consecutive seasons.
