Judging and Referee Interactions news and updates

The latest eSports Boxing Club Dev Roundtable covered several aspects of gameplay which we were happy to hear. Unfortunately, a release date hasn’t been set yet but we do have news surrounding how judging and referee interactions will affect the game. Let’s check out what the development team had to say. Judging in eSports Boxing ClubSeveral different aspects were covered during the ESBC Dev Roundtable but one of the aspects that caught our attention was judging. In previous boxing games, the judging mechanic was alluded to but never really talked about much. It would seem that eSports Boxing Club is planning on diving in a little more. TECHNIQUE: It would seem that judging is getting extra attentionCreative Director Ash Habib said “We wanted to really expand on the way the judging system works in ESBC. We’ve done that by giving judges, essentially, personalities.”He also mentioned that a preemptive scorecard will come up between rounds but will change throughout the fight. He went onto speak about how you’ll find judges in eSports Boxing Club that will judge off of accuracy, while others will score for big shots and damage. This kind of variety will only make ESBC a better game. Referee Interactions in ESBCReferee interactions also seem that they’ll be pretty heavily involved when eSports Boxing Club is finally released. The good part about this is that it provides a more realistic aspect to this boxing game. Habib said that you likely won’t see the referee very often though as most boxers aren’t worried about the referee during a match. BUD CRAWFORD: We’re hoping for more gameplay in the next few weeksA few of the interactions that Habib mentioned is that the referee will break up boxers, deduct points, check on bruises and cuts, and even more once the game comes out. He’s also asked that the eSports Boxing Club community submit feedback on things they’d like to see when ESBC is released. Watch Now: ESBC Dev RoundtableIf you’re wondering what the rest of the development team said, we have the full ESBC Dev Roundtable for you right here.
